# Editor tools

> The PIO menu: wizard, simulator, diagnostics, codegen.

Everything lives under the `PIO` menu in the Unity menu bar.

## Setup Wizard

Generates the `PioSettings` asset from your dashboard credentials, so the zero-argument `PIO.Init()` works with no configuration code. See [Configuration](/integration/configuration).

## Verify Integration

Checks your configuration and connection from inside the Editor: the fastest answer to "is it wired up".

## Decision Simulator

Exercises your action definitions from the Editor without running the game, so you can see decisions and payloads before a build exists.

## Generate Code Constants

Generates compile-time constants for your registered action and event keys, and one typed payload class per action that declares parameters, into `Assets/PIO.Generated/`. Defaults from the schema are compiled in, so payload reads degrade safely offline.

The Editor compares the server's schema against your generated code on focus and on entering Play mode. It warns when a parameter is added, removed, or re-typed; edits to a default or description are not drift. Regenerate to clear the warning.

## Diagnostics

`PIO/Diagnostics/Inspector` shows live SDK state, session, last decision, and event-queue depth. `PIO/Diagnostics/Event Log` shows every event the SDK enqueues, as it happens. For device builds, `ShowDebugOverlay` renders a collapsible panel with the same vitals, refreshed every second; it is a development aid, not for shipping.
